Agrani Bank Senior Citizen Savings Scheme

The purpose of Agrani Bank Senior Citizen Savings Scheme is to maintain social responsibility for elderly people and serve them in a special way. We like to empower our senior citizens, so that they can carry out their day-to-day banking transactions independently, and with dignity and confidence.

Agrani Bank emerged as a Nationalized Commercial Bank following the Bangladesh Banks (Nationalization) Order 1972 vide President’s Order No. 26 of 1972 under which former Habib Bank Limited and Commerce Bank Limited and renamed as Agrani Bank. The Bank was incorporated as a State-owned Commercial Bank on 17 May 2007 under the Companies Act 1994. On a going concern basis, Agrani Bank Limited took over the business, assets, liabilities, rights and obligations of Agrani Bank through a vendor’s agreement signed on 15 November 2007 between the Ministry of Finance of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and the Board of Directors of ABL with retrospective effect from 01 July, 2007.

Eligibility:

Must be a citizen of Bangladesh of age 60 and above

Initial Deposit: 500/-

Interest Rate: 1% more than conventional savings rate.

Features: Cheque book and ATM card facilities. Online banking facility across all branches.

  • TIN (if any)
  • Duly attested photocopy of valid Passport / Employer’s Certificate / ID Card / Driving License /National ID Card or Certificate about credentials by the local Ward Commissioner / Chairman of Union Parishad.
  • Two copies of recent passport size Photographs of account holder duly attested by the Introducer. One copy of Passport Size Photograph of Nominee duly attested by the Account Holder.
